The aircraft flew every day from 04JUL52 to 17AUG53 inclusive. Thereafter, the schedule was every day except Monday and Thursday although there were numerous variations. (Source: Log Book of the starboard engine fitted to VH-TAY) The normal pattern was for the same crew to fly the Lodestar from Cairns to Townsville then the DC-3 through to Brisbane via ports.
