This is the Lockheed paint specification and accompanying Inter-Departmental Communication that was issued to the factory. Evidently a standard three view drawing from the Altair manual has been hastily marked up to show Smithy's desired colour scheme and markings. Note the incorrect spelling of Consolidated. The notation "#152" at top right is the Lockheed serial number of the Lady Southern Cross. Appropriately enough, Chief Engineer Richard A. VonHake signs the memo as V.H. (Source: Lockheed)
