This photograph appeared
in "The Advocate" (Burnie, Tasmania) of Saturday 14th February
1953 under the headline "Air Survey for H.E.C." The following
text appeared with the photo:
"These four men have almost completed mapping 4000 sq. miles
in the Great Lake area for the Hydro-Electric Commission. Working
for Adastral (sic) Aerial Surveys, they have taken 600 9x9 vertical
shots from 20,000 ft, each picture covering 20 sq. miles. The survey
has been assisted by the ideal weather conditions over the past two
months. Left to right: Messrs. J. Harris (camera operator), R. Wilson
(navigator), J. Linfoot (aircraft captain) and E. Murphy (engineer).
They are snapped on the Pardoe 'drome, from where they are operating."
The
window configuration suggests that the Hudson is VH-AGO.
Pardoe is the aerodrome for Devonport.
