Previously captioned as an unknown engineer performing an engine change in Katherine, we now know that it is Abe Baker at Alice Springs in 1967. Abe recalls (in October 2009) that his Darwin-based Hudson flew down to Alice Springs to meet up with a Giles-based Hudson which was having a problem with its camera fogging up. The camera from the Giles aircraft was successfully test-flown in the Darwin aircraft but the port engine failed on the test flight. The camera was refitted to the other Hudson which returned to Giles. As a replacement engine was going to take weeks to arrive by rail from Sydney, the crew of the Darwin Hudson returned to Sydney.
