The leased Boeing 707-327C freighter N7099 at Sydney on 30 April 1971. Note that the livery of this aeroplane differed significantly from other 707s in the Qantas fleet. The radome was black and the fuselage undersurfaces were painted light grey. The aircraft carried "Cargo" in place of "Australia" and was not named. Although the registration VH-EBY had been reserved for it, the aeroplane remained on the U.S. Register for the entire lease. Note also that the registration was painted in black on the lower rear fuselage. Other Qantas 707s carried the registration in white on the red cheatline forward of the rear door. This was possible because several cabin windows were blanked off for the rear galley. Photo: Greg Banfield (GB10)
